Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and a registered nurse.
  • Current registered nurse state licensure.
  • Experience in clinical nursing.
  • At least six months of chronic or acute dialysis nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies and management skills, including communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, results orientation, team building, motivating employees, performance management, and decision making.
  • Demonstrated management skills necessary to supervise facility personnel and ensure the delivery of maximum quality care to patients.
  • Successfully passed the Ishihara Color Blind Test.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the dialysis facility in accordance with legal, compliance, regulatory, and program requirements.
  • Coordinate patient care with appropriate staff members from admission through discharge.
  • Make daily decisions to ensure continuity of care and patient and staff safety.
  • Market available services through presentations to physicians and dialysis facilities.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for direct reports.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Quality, Education, and Technical Services departments.
  • Oversee the facility’s Home Therapies Program in collaboration with the Home Therapies Program Manager.
  • Maintain medical and operational records and complete required data collection, auditing, coding, reporting, and state or federal survey activities.
  • Execute short- and long-term objectives with responsibility for costs, methods, staffing, and results.
  • Administer daily dialysis clinic operations, including center staff functions, patient care quality, physical plant and equipment maintenance, and inventory control.
  • Manage profit and loss and other financial aspects of the center to achieve or exceed budget and key performance indicators.
  • Act as a resource for patients and families regarding concerns and questions.
  • Oversee patient care assessments and care plans.
  • Manage patient schedules and develop action plans for missed treatments.
  • Report changes in patient status involving clinical, insurance, travel, or transportation issues.
  • Participate in selection and hiring of new team members and ensure completion of orientation and mandatory training.
  • Ensure patient care employees complete required training and maintain current licenses and certifications.
  • Provide ongoing support and professional growth opportunities for clinical staff.
  • Conduct employee evaluations, establish annual goals, document disciplinary actions, and consult with Human Resources and the Director of Operations as needed.
  • Manage staff scheduling and payroll.
  • Facilitate physician privilege applications and compliance with medical staff bylaws.
  • Maintain physician relationships and regular communication.
  • Participate in governing-body and interdisciplinary regional teams.
  • Implement and maintain continuous quality improvement and quality assessment and improvement programs.
  • Review center operations for compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Support quality standards, regulatory requirements, risk-management initiatives, and facility-specific action plans.
  • Oversee staff training and implementation of quality, safety, and company policies.
  • Manage facility staffing, including hiring, firing, disciplinary actions, scheduling, and performance feedback.
  • Coordinate new-hire orientation, required in-services, licensure documentation, policy updates, and training.
  • Maintain facility environmental integrity, safety, and security.
  • Schedule equipment, operating-system, and physical-structure maintenance and repairs.
  • Coordinate inventory and supply management, approve purchase orders, and control supply costs.
  • Oversee utilization of medications, laboratory resources, inventory, supplies, and equipment.
  • Contribute to facility policies, procedures, and manuals.
  • Support billing, billing issues, and collection activities.
  • Review provider contracts for vendor services.
  • Coordinate and approve facility payroll.
  • Participate in internal, state, and federal surveys.
  • Supervise Charge RN and DPC staff.
  • Travel to regional, Business Unit, and Corporate meetings as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role in a medical facility.
  • Medical/surgical or intensive care unit/coronary care unit experience.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with medical database software.
