  • A bachelor's degree.
  • Familiarity with contractual language, insurance guidelines, online reservation systems, inventory management, and vendor sourcing related to event management services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software products.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization abilities, including the ability to multitask.
  • Strong professional integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to use good judgment, think critically, and solve problems.
  • Ability to work effectively at a computer for up to eight hours daily.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive event strategies that align each event with university goals and objectives.
  • Review and negotiate facility rental contracts, maximize return on investment, and ensure applicable documentation is completed and submitted for legal review.
  • Create, manage, and reconcile multi-event budgets, including invoice creation and processing.
  • Negotiate competitive pricing with applicable vendors to maximize return on investment.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor event staff and coordinators, and set performance metrics and operational standards for service delivery.
  • Lead on-site event operations, manage run-of-show timelines, troubleshoot emergencies, and ensure positive guest and attendee experiences.
  • Analyze performance metrics, review customer feedback, and report on the success and profitability of events.
  • Serve as an ambassador of the university's service-excellence culture and hold others accountable to university values.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all departments regarding partnership opportunities with event management services.
  • Coordinate with key departments to manage logistics for external and university events.
  • Collaborate with the university marketing and communications team to promote information related to event management services.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in an event-management environment and/or collegiate environment.
  • Prior management experience.
