Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Film or Communications, or equivalent education and experience, plus four or more years of professional videography experience; alternatively, eight years of equivalent experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Mac operating systems and advanced editing software such as Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Experience operating drones.
  • Demonstrated editing skills across varied projects.
  • An online video portfolio demonstrating varied shooting environments and styles.
  • A comprehensive understanding of video codecs, compression techniques, and effective methods for delivering video content.
  • Knowledge of using graphics in video.
  • Ability to conceptualize video projects and carry them through execution.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail across communication, editing, and design.
  • Ability to perform moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, nearly continuous standing, repetitive hand motions, and overhead reaching.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct shoots independently or as part of a team using lighting, audio, and camera equipment to achieve consistent, high-quality results.
  • Communicate with marketing managers to identify client needs and develop concepts for video production projects of varied duration and complexity.
  • Manage all projects in ClickUp to ensure deadlines are met and stakeholders are informed of progress.
  • Back up and organize video content on a server so it is easily accessible to others.
  • Assist with photography during shooting and postproduction.
  • Manage the university's YouTube channel, standardizing video titles, descriptions, captions, and thumbnails; recommend, manage, and shoot content for the channel.
  • Handle video requests from campus groups or media agencies and deliver appropriate content.
  • Provide hands-on training, mentorship, and resources to student workers, faculty, and staff working on independent video projects.
  • Advance creative video ideas, improve processes, and contribute to an efficient team environment.
  • Work non-traditional hours, including some evenings and weekends, for athletics and university events, and occasionally travel for three to four nights at a time.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Part 107 license is preferred.
  • Motion graphics experience is a plus.
