Requirements
  • 7+ years of full-stack or software engineering experience, with meaningful time spent owning product systems in production
  • Full-stack fluency across frontend (React/Next.js) and backend (Node.js/TypeScript/PostgreSQL), and the ability to lead work across the stack without heavy dependency on others
  • Strong product sense; you think about why a feature exists, not just how to build it, and you ask good questions, push back when needed, and make thoughtful product and engineering tradeoffs in service of the user experience
  • Systems and architecture judgment; you can reason about application structure, maintainability, performance, data flow, and backend design, and make technical decisions balancing speed, quality, and long-term scalability
  • Technical leadership; you help raise the quality bar through architecture decisions, code quality, design feedback, and mentorship of other engineers, and you can lead complex initiatives
  • Quality bar; you consider edge cases, loading states, error handling, responsiveness, and interaction design, and you ship features with polish and robustness
  • Clear communication; you articulate tradeoffs, explain approaches, and collaborate effectively with design, product, and other engineers
  • AI-fluent; you use artificial intelligence coding tools daily and know how to wield them effectively as a multiplier on top of strong fundamentals
Responsibilities
  • Own and build the features that users interact with every day, including systems like data visualization, entity management, search, dashboards, and document workflows
  • Work across the full stack, leading the design and delivery of features end-to-end while helping shape how the product evolves
  • Translate user problems into thoughtful, well-designed solutions, balancing user needs with technical feasibility
  • Provide technical leadership through design reviews, implementation guidance, and mentorship of other engineers
  • Collaborate with product and design to define scope, challenge assumptions, and ship iteratively with strong judgment
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience owning large product surfaces or critical user workflows in production
  • Experience building data-heavy interfaces such as tables, dashboards, charts, and search workflows
  • Experience with Supabase, Vercel, or similar modern deployment and database platforms
  • Experience making architecture decisions across both frontend and backend in fast-moving product environments
  • Experience mentoring engineers and improving engineering standards across a team
  • Early-stage startup experience

Baba exits stealth with $6.5M to expand Medicare-covered patient advocacy for older adults

Baba, a Medicare-covered patient advocacy platform, has emerged from stealth with over $6.5 million in seed funding led by General Catalyst. Genius Ventures, Soma Capital, Ground Up Ventures and Triedge Investments also participated. The platform connects older adults and caregivers with experienced human advocates, typically nurses or social workers, who handle insurance challenges, scheduling issues and care coordination. Baba also offers a phone and text-based AI companion that provides daily engagement and reminders, enabling advocates to intervene when barriers arise. Founded by Connor Sweeney, Baba has supported over 6,000 families to date. The company partners with nursing homes and home care agencies nationwide and is conducting an IRB-approved clinical study with Johns Hopkins to evaluate its impact on health outcomes. The funding will support service expansion and provider partnerships.
