Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience.
  • Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience.
  • Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience working successfully with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and/or the public.
  • Experience with programming, student services, and assessment.
  • Broad knowledge of and work experience with student transition issues and retention related to the target population.
  • Well-developed computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability and willingness to work some weekends and evenings.
Responsibilities
  • Advising and counseling of students.
  • Developing and executing student programming.
  • Functioning as a liaison with University faculty, supervisors, and internal and external constituents.
  • Monitoring and evaluating student services and operational effectiveness.
  • Supervising a team of undergraduate and graduate student workers providing critical services.
  • Carrying out the mission and strategic plan of the organization through effective and efficient coordination of operations, the development of opportunities, stakeholder relations, and strategic initiatives.

  • Master’s degree in STEM education or related field.
  • Experience with programs serving the target populations.
  • Experience in conflict and crisis management.
  • Ability to work effectively and positively in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Well-developed written, verbal, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
