  • 7+ years of product marketing experience including 3+ years of experience with a developer audience in the gaming industry.
  • A deep empathy for Developers and passion for Discord’s mission and the role Developers have to play in the growth of the business.
  • A strategic thinker who is curious, resilient, goal-oriented with a bias for action, and can look at the big picture to connect dots and create clarity in an often ambiguous environment.
  • An exceptional communicator that creates clarity for internal and external customers through intentional, organized verbal and written communication.
  • The ability to lead effectively through influence and comfortable working cross-functionally across the entire business, catalyzing and inspiring teams to align behind a common goal and do their best work.
  • Stellar writing and content creation skills, including compelling video scripts, articles for user education.

Responsibilities
  • Develop Go-To-Market strategy grounded in market awareness and customer empathy to acquire new Developers and improve adoption of Developer tools and products.
  • Develop clear, cohesive, differentiated messaging that lands the value proposition and the 'why' with key audience segments.
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the Developer ecosystem, including its competitive and partnership landscape, and use this insight to inform Go-To-Market strategy and key narratives.
  • Be the expert on our target audience segments and act as the internal champion for the customer, ensuring their needs guide our marketing strategies and inform our product roadmap.
  • Know the product/solution intimately, and be well-versed in the user journey. You know how to get hands on or collaborate with others to deliver the right content to meet the user where they are at each phase in their journey, be it videos, product demos, case studies, training materials, etc.
