Requirements
  • Knowledge of control system principles.
  • Knowledge of Internet of Things, smart building solutions, building automation systems, and/or direct digital control and programmable logic controller systems.
  • Knowledge of open-source protocols including BACnet, Modbus, and Simple Network Management Protocol.
  • Skill using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams, along with file-management organization.
  • Ability to leverage artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation.
  • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment through effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness, and resourcefulness in a distraction-free workspace.
  • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements.
  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence.

  • Ability to frequently manipulate, move, or grasp small parts, devices, or tools; remain stationary; move through office, critical-facility, and other environments including tight and confined spaces; ascend and descend stairs and ladders; position oneself under or over equipment; and occasionally move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree, certification, apprenticeship, or technical program in engineering, construction, or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited institution, with sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
  • A valid REAL ID or acceptable alternative, such as a passport, is required for business travel.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%, potentially to any of the 50 United States.
Responsibilities
  • Perform basic engineering work and design tasks under a senior engineer’s supervision.
  • Use AutoCAD and Revit to prepare drawings and visual aids.
  • Assist in reviewing and creating drawing details, schedules, sequences of operations, and drawing content.
  • Assist with selecting and sourcing direct digital control programmable controllers to match application needs.
  • Learn to source and select instrumentation, sensors, and field devices.
  • Review and possibly assist with shop drawings, submittals, product data, operations and maintenance manuals, and as-built documents.
  • Survey existing building conditions and prepare technical reports of findings.
  • Collect data and other information for construction documents.
  • Prepare project design and construction documents.
  • Review and edit project specifications.
  • Work as part of the engineering team and interact closely with the project management team.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals.
  • Review and respond to requests for information.
  • Assist with punch lists and project closeout documents.
  • Assist with project communication and reporting.
  • Assist with project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage personal hours using company tools.
  • Complete assigned tasks and deliverables on time and on budget.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
