Requirements
  • Candidates must hold and maintain current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), or be willing to complete a 40-hour training course and sit for the RBT exam within 45 days of employment.
  • If extended an offer, candidates must be willing to participate in the company’s background check process.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Candidates must have reliable transportation and, in some cases, proof of a driver’s license and valid car insurance.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Candidates must be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification and complete a TB test if they have not had one in the past year.
  • Candidates must be able to perform the physical duties of the job, including getting down on the floor and standing up repeatedly, lifting up to 50 pounds, and moving quickly when needed for client interaction and safety.
  • Candidates must reliably attend each scheduled therapy appointment.
  • Candidates must maintain professional presentation and conduct.
  • Candidates need patience to help keep clients on task and the ability to maintain emotional control when a client acts out physically or verbally.
  • Candidates must have strong attention to detail and be able to perform repetitive tasks precisely.
  • Candidates must be able to follow and carry out detailed instructions.
  • Candidates must understand technology well enough to record data on a mobile device and navigate digital applications.
  • Candidates must have written and verbal communication skills and cultural competency, including flexibility and an open-minded approach.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct client care in one-to-one and group settings using intensive teaching and natural environment training.
  • Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols in each client’s individualized treatment plan developed by a BCBA or BC.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training in accordance with the client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Complete documentation on time and according to established procedures.
  • Communicate client progress to parents and caregivers as instructed by the BCBA or BC.
  • Use safe and appropriate procedures with clients and report critical incidents and safety concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Assist the BCBA or BC with preparing client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skills acquisition.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working as a behavioral technician, working with children with autism or other learning disabilities, teacher’s aide, tutor, certified nursing assistant, caregiver, or home health aide.
