Responsibilities
Conduct National Environmental Policy Act impact analyses for a wide range of public projects and develop the appropriate level of National Environmental Policy Act documentation.
Manage the preparation of legally sound Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments, categorical exclusions, and other environmental compliance documents such as biological assessments.
Participate in authoring various sections of the applicable National Environmental Policy Act document.
Oversee the preparation of National Environmental Policy Act documents by subconsultants when needed and provide quality assurance and quality control for deliverables.
Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies and the public to help clients meet compliance requirements, communicate project details, and record stakeholder input.
Develop presentations and facilitate agency and public meetings.
Stay updated on developments and best practices in National Environmental Policy Act law, regulation, policy, and guidance.
Collaborate with Project Managers, project teams, clients, and other stakeholders to integrate environmental considerations into project planning and execution.
Provide technical support for environmental permitting processes.
Train junior staff.
Desired Qualifications
A master's degree in environmental sciences, geology, planning, or a similar field is preferred.
EDGE Engineering and Science is seeking a multi-disciplinary National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Project Manager who will work independently to prepare environmental documents, primarily Environmental Assessments (EA), Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), and related technical studies related to linear infrastructure (e.g., pipelines and fiber optics), marine and coastal infrastructure, and coastal restoration. You will work directly with federal agencies, clients, and other members of the NEPA Practice at EDGE to develop legally defensible documentation. Additional tasks will include participation in public meetings, coordination of agency and internal team project deadlines, training junior staff, and various other tasks as available.
