PHI Air Medical provides emergency air medical transport across the United States, operating helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft from more than 82 bases. It responds to emergencies and conducts inter-facility transfers for patients needing higher levels of care, transporting over 22,500 patients each year. The service relies on partnerships with communities and health systems, with crews trained to handle complex in-flight medical needs such as ventilators and ECMO, plus options like the PHI Cares membership to cover out-of-pocket costs and tools like FlyPHI and Family Trax for requesting and tracking transports. Its goal is to deliver dependable life-saving air medical transport, expand access, and reduce financial barriers through care programs and outreach.
