  • Universal Pre-K Teacher applicants must hold a valid New York State teaching certification.
  • Teacher Assistant applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience working with children and families.
  • A New York State registry clearance is required to verify eligibility to work with children in an educational setting.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and technology is necessary for administrative tasks, lesson planning, and incorporating technology into the learning environment.
  • Effective communication and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues are essential.
  • Applicants must be able to collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administrators in a team environment.
  • Strong classroom management skills are necessary.
  • Applicants must possess sufficient manual dexterity to work with children and adults.
  • Applicants must have sufficient mobility to drive to and participate in meetings at clients' homes or community facilities.
  • Applicants must complete any additional Syracuse City School District mandated trainings.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons.
  • Foster a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Actively engage with students to support their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
  • Work closely with families to build positive relationships and ensure open communication.
  • Collaborate with program managers, administrative staff, and the Syracuse City School District to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
Desired Qualifications
  • A two-year degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in early childhood teaching is preferred.
  • Preferably, the New York State teaching certification should be in Early Childhood Education.
