Codal expands Chicago headquarters with new AI Center of Excellence.

Codal expands Chicago headquarters with new AI Center of Excellence. September 25, 2026 Codal will expand into a new 24,000-square-foot headquarters at 200 South Wacker Drive in Chicago's Loop in April 2027, giving the digital consultancy additional capacity for hiring and a new Center of Excellence supporting its AI and agentic engineering business. The new office will occupy a full floor and represents a 50% increase from Codal's current 16,000-square-foot space, which the company expanded into in 2021. Codal said the larger headquarters will help it respond to growing demand for Orchestra AI, its AI and agentic engineering services. The planned Center of Excellence will provide a dedicated base for that work as the company develops AI-driven systems, workflows and agentic capabilities for clients. "Moving onto our own floor is a big moment for Codal," said Matt Gierut, COO and Co-Founder of Codal. "It gives us space to grow and stay aligned on where we're headed." The expansion is also tied to additional hiring in Chicago. Codal has already added 12 employees and plans to hire as many as 40 more, with openings spanning project management, product management, solutions architecture and engineering. Those positions reflect the mix of technical and operational expertise required for the company's consulting work, particularly as AI projects move from experimentation toward integration with existing business systems and workflows. Codal works with organizations in industries including healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, retail, media and the public sector. Its projects encompass digital platforms, systems, workflows and customer experiences, alongside its growing work in AI and agentic engineering. The company's Orchestra AI offering is intended to address that emerging part of its consulting business. Agentic systems are designed to perform multistep tasks and interact with business processes, creating implementation requirements that extend beyond deploying individual AI models. For consulting firms, that work can involve product strategy, software engineering, system architecture and integration with the data and applications already used by clients. Codal's decision to establish a dedicated Center of Excellence puts additional organizational infrastructure behind those capabilities. "We're excited about what we're building as an AI-driven consultancy here in Chicago, and to keep growing, creating new opportunities, and contributing to the local economy," Gierut said. The 200 South Wacker headquarters will include open collaboration areas, a café and library, along with views of the Chicago River. Occupying an entire floor will also give Codal additional flexibility to organize teams around its consulting and engineering work as headcount increases. The move represents another stage in the company's physical expansion in Chicago. Codal moved into a 16,000-square-foot space in 2021 and is now adding another 8,000 square feet as it builds out its workforce and AI capabilities. The planned hiring could further increase the company's local presence before the new headquarters opens in April 2027. Codal operates across the United States and United Kingdom, providing digital consulting and engineering services to organizations in both private and public-sector markets. With the new Chicago headquarters, Codal is putting additional office capacity, technical talent and a dedicated Center of Excellence behind its AI strategy as it works to convert growing demand for AI and agentic systems into a larger consulting and engineering business.

Codal wins 2026 Connected Commerce Award for Bisco systems integration. Codal has received the 2026 Connected Commerce Award for delivering an integrated B2B commerce replatforming for Bisco, connecting its commerce platform with ERP and CRM systems through a real-time integration layer. August 04, 2026 8:10 AM EDT | Source: DesignRush Chicago, Illinois-(Newsfile Corp. - August 4, 2026) - Codal, a global technology consultancy specializing in commerce, customer experience and enterprise technology, has received the 2026 Connected Commerce Award for its work delivering an integrated B2B commerce solution for Bisco, a manufacturer and distributor of dental materials. The award recognizes integrated commerce work that connects commerce, ERP, and CRM systems to improve B2B operations and customer experiences. The 2026 Connected Commerce Award recognizes the agency's work in connected B2B commerce systems. To view an enhanced version of this graphic, please visit: https://images.newsfilecorp.com/files/10587/307686_860bd81494e07aae_001full.jpg The project involved a complete B2B commerce replatforming supported by a real-time integration layer connecting Bisco's commerce platform, enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and customer relationship management (CRM) platform. * Connected commerce platform with ERP and CRM systems * Built real-time data exchange between core enterprise tools * Reduced reliance on disconnected systems across commerce and operations The integration aligned these systems so data moves more consistently between commerce activity, customer records, and operational workflows. "Winning this award is a reflection of the work our team puts into every engagement. B2B commerce is complicated, and the clients we work with deserve more than a new front end. They need systems that talk to each other, data they can trust and an experience that reflects how their buyers actually work. That's what we set out to build every time," said Joe Comins, Director of Strategy, eCommerce at Codal. Many B2B organizations rely on disconnected commerce, ERP and CRM systems, creating operational inefficiencies and inconsistent customer experiences. The implementation demonstrates how integrating these systems can improve data accuracy, streamline operations and deliver a more seamless buying experience for B2B customers. An integrated commerce strategy can help enterprise organizations: * Connect commerce, ERP and CRM platforms through real-time integration * Improve data consistency across commerce, ERP and CRM systems * Improve self-service experiences for B2B buyers * Support incremental monthly revenue growth * Build scalable digital infrastructure without extensive custom development About Codal: Codal is an award-winning design and development consultancy that helps enterprise organizations solve complex problems and accelerate growth through cutting-edge, data-driven digital solutions.
