Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, or a business-related field is required.
  • One to three years of experience in automotive logistics or a crossdock environment is required.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts, including probability, statistical inference, geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply statistical techniques to shipment and delivery data.
  • Ability to solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret mathematical or diagrammatic instructions, and work with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs.
Responsibilities
  • Staff, direct, and control the day-to-day operations of the shift.
  • Lead and direct a team of employees and a clerk.
  • Manage the inbound and outbound flow of materials, including unloading and receiving inbound product and loading outbound shuttles accurately and on time.
  • Communicate with the materials group regarding late arrivals or departures, OSD issues, and quality-related concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and quality guidelines, on-time service expectations, and window-time conformance.
  • Oversee tactical and operational planning for assigned customers' inbound and outbound logistics operations.
  • Monitor all loads for on-time receipt and delivery-window conformance.
  • Enforce all safety rules and guidelines.
  • Train, test, and certify material handlers.
  • Oversee truck receiving and loading and process required paperwork.
  • Maintain and update standard operating procedures and work instructions for customer programs.
  • Ensure shipping departments and central customer service groups communicate late-running loads to customers.
  • Maintain and manage the customer KPI deck for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews.
  • Ensure receiving, inspection, and put-away processes are performed correctly and completed daily.
  • Shift employees' tasks as needed in response to changes in demand.
  • Manage costs to contribute to company goals.
  • Solve problems and implement operational and efficiency improvements to reduce operating costs.
  • Monitor and manage key operating performance indicators.
  • Promote a clean, sanitary, and safe working environment.
  • Track, analyze, and communicate key performance metrics through the KPI deck.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
