About the job

Requirements
  • At least 8 years of experience in enterprise consultative sales or as a commercial insurance producer, or in an AVP/VP role, with quota-tied responsibility including prospecting, discovery, and conversion.
  • Deep expertise in a specific vertical, such as Private Equity, Real Estate, Consumer/CPG, Technology, Data Centers, or Manufacturing, with a book of business or track record of placing business in that space.
  • Fluency in the coverage lines, carrier markets, and risk exposures most relevant to the candidate’s industry.
  • An established network of industry relationships that can be activated for referrals and warm introductions.
  • Strong client relationship management and consultative sales skills.
  • Excellent executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
  • Own the full sales cycle, from discovery through close, within the assigned vertical, partnering with top-of-funnel teams to qualify opportunities and with a Risk Management Advisor to move deals forward.
  • Conduct deep consultative discovery to diagnose operational challenges and key risk-management exposures, then partner on a risk-mitigation plan that earns trust and drives conviction.
  • Lead onboarding for new accounts by aligning expectations, mapping timelines, and building trust early.
  • Proactively source and engage new prospects through outbound efforts, warm introductions, referrals, and strategic networking within the industry; nurture and manage the pipeline.
  • Develop proposals and deal narratives that communicate value, anticipate objections, and move decision-makers toward action.

About the company

Coverage.com is an online insurance comparison marketplace that helps consumers shop for auto, home, condo, and renters coverage rather than underwriting policies itself. Visitors answer a few questions about their needs and receive tailored options from a range of partner insurance carriers, and can schedule consultations with licensed agents to complete a purchase. A Red Ventures company, it earns revenue through advertising and affiliate compensation from the insurers it features, which can influence how products are displayed. What sets Coverage.com apart is its role as an independent comparison platform that presents multiple carriers side by side, pairing self-service quoting tools with access to agents rather than selling a single company's products. The goal is to make buying insurance simpler and more transparent by helping shoppers weigh options and find coverage suited to their situation.

What believers are saying

  • CMS reported 24.2 million Marketplace enrollees on January 17, 2025, supporting insurance shopping demand.
  • QuinStreet said August 6, 2026 results were record fiscal 2026, signaling strong marketplace execution.
  • Coverage.com's 2026 site monetizes ads and affiliates, diversifying revenue beyond lead commissions.

What critics are saying

  • Google traffic shifts can starve the lead funnel and crush quote volume quickly.
  • QuinStreet's Insurance.com dominance pressures Coverage.com into commoditized price-comparison battles every quarter.
  • Carrier underwriting pullbacks or affiliate changes can erase commissions and force costly traffic buys.

What makes Coverage.com unique

  • QuinStreet powers Coverage.com with carrier integrations and licensed agency partnerships in 2026.
  • Coverage.com spans home, condo, renters, and auto quotes across all 50 states.
  • Its performance-marketing model routes searchers into comparison funnels, not a single insurer brand.
