DevOps Engineer - Multiple Teams
About the job
- A current Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information U.S. Government security clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
- At least 5 years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development, preferably Java, with a bachelor's degree in a related field; or 3 years of relevant experience with a master's degree in a related field; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 9 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of Linux, including system administration and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
- Knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, and Lambda, and their use in deploying and managing infrastructure.
- Experience with application and operating system deployment, scaling, and management.
- Ability to develop in multiple programming languages such as Bash, Python, or Go.
- Familiarity with Git and other development tools such as deployment pipelines.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and standard software development tool suites.
- Must obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of hire.
- Must work on-site daily at the customer location in San Antonio, Texas, with occasional opportunities to work from home; flexibility is required to accommodate schedule changes based on customer and team needs.
- Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS.
- Support development and deployment of non-cloud edge infrastructure for on-premises and portable equipment.
- Automate deployment processes and ensure the reliability and scalability of services.
- Manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate their applications into the infrastructure.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems and resolve issues as necessary.
- Continuously improve processes and tools to ensure high availability and performance.
- Stay current with new technologies and industry trends and explore ways to improve the infrastructure.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
- Experience with EKS, Diode, continuous integration/continuous delivery, and Terraform.
- Java experience is preferred.
- The work may require on-call availability.
