Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
- At least 10 years of industry experience, preferably within a consulting engineering firm, is required.
- A Professional Engineer license is required, with eligibility for licensure in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
- In-depth knowledge of power, lighting, data, security, and fire alarm distribution systems is required.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as Visual and SKM, and construction document software, is required.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple simultaneous projects across all stages, from concept design through construction completion, and guide project teams toward timely, on-budget delivery with high technical quality.
- Participate in and review construction documents, drawings, reports, submittals, and proposals to maintain quality and consistency.
- Ensure all design components align with project specifications.
- Conduct and coordinate field measurements, data collection, and site inspections, and ensure accurate reporting and documentation.
- Attend design coordination meetings with clients and team members, foster client relationships, and participate in peer reviews to enhance quality and mitigate risk.
- Prepare monthly projections, track project milestones, and assist with billing and invoicing.
- Mentor junior engineers and team members, share technical expertise, and support their professional growth.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development teams on requests for qualifications, interviews, and presentations.
Desired Qualifications
- A master's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- A background in building and/or industrial/manufacturing facilities is highly desirable.
