- A Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance, an Associate's degree plus 4 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance, or a high school diploma plus 8 years of related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.
- F-16 experience is strongly preferred, although other fighter jet experience may be considered.
- At least a 7 Skill Level or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- 5th generation aircraft experience is a plus.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is required.
- Ability to lift and carry parts, tooling, and other awkward items sometimes weighing greater than 50 pounds, including walking up and down stairs, aircraft maintenance stands, and platforms.
- Ability to see and hear, or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately to meet the position requirements.
- Modify, upgrade, inspect, test, adjust, and repair aircraft avionics and electrical systems, including aircraft-installed radar, radio, navigation, and power systems, using hand tools and test equipment.
- Inspect avionics and electrical system components and equipment for defects, including loose connections and frayed wire, and verify assembly and installation accuracy.
- Test avionics and electrical systems under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness using oscilloscopes, digital meters and counters, and circuit analyzers.
- Adjust, repair, and replace defective components based on analysis of test results while following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents.
- Calibrate installed, modified, or repaired systems and equipment to prescribed specifications when required.
- Operate ground servicing equipment to operationally test, inspect, and verify the functionality and airworthiness of avionics and other electrical systems when required.
- Assist in fabricating wiring harnesses when required.
- Accurately document all required U.S. Government and program forms and documents, including electronic records.
- Interact effectively with program and customer representatives and on-site business or military representatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Stand, walk, sit, squat, stretch, and bend intermittently throughout the workday.
- Microsoft Office Suite skills are preferred.

AAR adds three heavy maintenance lines with Miami MRO expansion. AAR Corp. has opened an expanded airframe MRO facility at Miami International Airport, adding more than 100,000 ft^2 of capacity and creating 200 full-time jobs. The aviation aftermarket specialist marked the expansion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, August 17. Built to support the maintenance requirements of a long-term commercial airline customer, the new facility will accommodate three heavy maintenance lines, with the first aircraft expected to be inducted this autumn. The project expands AAR's existing Airframe MRO operation at Miami International Airport and was developed in collaboration with the airport, Ryan Companies, HPM and federal, state and local partners. AAR said the additional capacity will generate 200 new full-time positions and provide wider economic benefits for Miami-Dade County. Recruitment is under way through the company's workforce development programmes and partnerships with local educational institutions. "The expansion of our Airframe MRO facility in Miami reflects both the strength of our operations and the confidence customers place in AAR to deliver quality and reliability," said John M.
