- A Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in welding-assembly or equivalent relevant experience is required.
- Demonstrated experience handling and welding stainless steel is required.
- Strong proficiency in precision stainless-steel tungsten inert gas welding is required.
- Ability to read technical drawings and welding symbols accurately is required.
- Attention to detail, precision, autonomy, and consistent adherence to safety instructions are required.
- Interpret fabrication plans, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Prepare, cut, and position stainless-steel parts before welding.
- Operate welding equipment suited to stainless steel, primarily tungsten inert gas welding and metal inert gas welding.
- Adjust shielding gases and purge settings to prevent metal contamination and oxidation.
- Inspect the visual quality and finish of welds, including cleaning, brushing, and passivation when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment.
- Canadian Welding Bureau competency cards are an asset.
