What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

• Design and Development: Lead the design and development of special containers, wagons (including Wagon BA 1-5), and planning trolleys for automotive production and logistics supermarkets. Ensure designs are optimized for the handling, transport, and storage of single components and modules.
• JIS Modules/Racks: Develop JIS modules and racks to improve the efficiency of component handling and storage, integrating seamlessly into the production process.
• Planning Trolleys: Design and implement planning trolleys for logistics supermarkets to facilitate efficient material handling and streamline inventory management.
• Automotive Standards: Ensure that all designs comply with automotive industry regulations and are optimized for the specific requirements of single components and modules.
• Collaboration: Work closely with automotive engineering, logistics, and production teams to ensure container, wagon, and trolley designs integrate effectively into the manufacturing and logistics processes.
• Quality and Innovation: Drive innovation in container, wagon, and trolley design to enhance durability, safety, and cost-effectiveness, with a focus on the needs of single components and modules.

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in container, wagon, and trolley design within the automotive industry, with a focus on single components and modules.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, specifically CATIA V5, and a strong understanding of automotive industry standards and regulations.
• Compliance: In-depth knowledge of industry compliance standards, ensuring all designs meet required safety, environmental, and quality criteria.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of innovation in container, wagon, and trolley design.
• Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $95,000-$125,000
