Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a diverse team of AI specialists, data professionals, engineers, and scientists.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-trust culture focused on engagement, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Support team members through ongoing coaching, performance management, career development planning, and regular feedback.
  • Create an environment where teams are empowered to make decisions, solve problems independently, and deliver results with minimal day-to-day intervention.
  • Identify succession planning and growth opportunities for team members while building long-term organizational capability.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop talent aligned with both immediate business needs and long-term strategic objectives.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to establish priorities, roadmaps, delivery objectives, and success metrics.
  • Drive predictable and sustainable delivery through effective planning, prioritization, risk management, and execution practices.
  • Maintain clear management systems, delivery processes, and reporting mechanisms to provide transparency and support decision-making.
  • Monitor and improve team performance through delivery metrics, operational insights, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Remove organizational impediments and proactively address risks that may impact execution or team effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align priorities, dependencies, and strategic initiatives.
  • Translate business strategy into actionable short- and medium-term plans that balance people, product, and delivery considerations.
  • Facilitate effective communication across geographically distributed teams and leadership groups.
  • Support organizational change initiatives and help scale operational best practices across the Data and AI organization.
  • Contribute to leadership discussions regarding team structure, talent planning, organizational maturity, and department-wide initiatives.
  • Provide leadership guidance for the development and delivery of Data and AI solutions in production environments.
  • Ensure teams follow responsible AI practices, data governance standards, and quality assurance processes.
  • Promote modern engineering practices, scalable architecture principles, and continuous improvement in technical delivery.
  • Guide teams working on AI-enabled solutions including machine learning, document intelligence, agentic workflows, data platforms, and automation technologies.

UL Solutions opens automotive EMC laboratory in Japan's Toyota City

UL Solutions has opened a new automotive electromagnetic compatibility laboratory in Toyota City, Japan, beginning operations on 1 July. The 2,323-square-metre facility will provide EMC testing to help manufacturers protect vehicles from interference affecting critical systems like braking and steering. The Automotive Technology and Innovation Centre is among few EMC laboratories in Japan equipped for high-voltage, high-current, high-torque and high-speed rotational testing. Its chambers can handle up to 25,000 RPM and power supplies delivering up to 1,500 volts and 1,000 amps. Located in Japan's Tokai region, the facility strengthens UL Solutions' global EMC testing network and supports automakers in the world's third-largest vehicle market, which produced over 8 million vehicles in 2025.

UL Solutions prices $980M secondary offering at $49 per share

UL Solutions has priced an underwritten secondary public offering of 20 million shares of Class A common stock at $49 per share, raising $980 million. The shares are being sold entirely by selling stockholder UL Standards & Engagement, with underwriters holding a 30-day option to purchase an additional 3 million shares. The global applied safety science company will not offer any shares and will receive no proceeds from the sale. The offering is expected to close on 9 September 2024, subject to customary conditions. Latham & Watkins represented both UL Solutions and the selling stockholder, led by Chicago partners Cathy Birkeland and Christopher Lueking. The firm previously advised UL Solutions on its $1.08 billion IPO, one of 2024's largest initial public offerings.
