KIGO at Four Seasons Hotel DIFC awarded one Michelin Star at the Michelin Guide Dubai 2026 ceremony.

KIGO at Four Seasons Hotel DIFC awarded one Michelin Star at the Michelin Guide Dubai 2026 ceremony. KIGO at Four Seasons Hotel DIFC celebrates two major accolades just over one year after opening, with Chef Akinori Tanigawa also receiving the Michelin Guide Service Award October 8, 2026, Dubai, U.A.E. Download this image Download all images KIGO has been awarded one Michelin star at the Michelin Guide Dubai 2026 ceremony, becoming one of only two restaurants newly awarded this distinction in Dubai this year. The recognition marks a significant milestone for the Japanese Kaiseki restaurant, located at Four Seasons Hotel DIFC, just over one year since opening its doors. During the ceremony, Chef Akinori "Aki" Tanigawa was also presented with the Michelin Guide Service Award, recognising his distinctive approach to hospitality and the highly personalised dining experience he has established at KIGO. Led by Chef Aki, KIGO has brought the traditions and philosophy of Kaiseki to Dubai through an approach rooted in seasonality, balance and precision. The menus evolve throughout the year in line with the changing seasons, with each new iteration shaped by ingredients at their peak and the character of that particular time of year. Rather than maintaining an extensive year-round selection, KIGO keeps its offering intentionally focused, allowing each season to guide the dishes, flavours and overall dining experience. Hospitality has been equally central to KIGO since its opening. Chef Aki's Michelin Guide Service Award recognises an approach that extends beyond the cuisine itself, with the Michelin Guide highlighting the restaurant's "smooth and elegant service" and the warmth of the farewell given to guests. This personal approach is reflected throughout the KIGO experience, from remembering returning guests' preferences to considering the details of each visit. Chef Akinori "Aki" Tanigawa shares: "Receiving a Michelin Star for KIGO, alongside being recognised with the Michelin Guide Service Award, is a great honour and something I am very grateful for. For me, however, these recognitions are ultimately a reflection of the entire team. Kaiseki is not only about the food, but also about Omotenashi, the Japanese spirit of wholehearted hospitality, attention to details and creating a memorable experience for each guest. I am proud of what we have built together at KIGO and deeply grateful to our team and our guests who have supported us since the beginning. We will continue to learn, improve and remain true to the spirit of Japanese Kaiseki." Evgeny Kuzin, Chairman at Fundamental Hospitality, commented: "Receiving a Michelin Star is a tremendous honour and an important milestone for KIGO. From the beginning, we believed in bringing the depth and beauty of authentic Kaiseki to Dubai. This recognition belongs to our entire team and to the guests who have believed in us from the start. We are incredibly proud of what we have built together and look forward to the next chapter." Chef Izu Ani, Chief Research Officer at Fundamental Hospitality, added: "This Michelin Star is a recognition of the dedication and consistency of our entire team. Kaiseki is about respecting the season, the ingredients and the craft, while creating an experience that stays with the guest. I am very proud of our chefs and grateful to everyone who has supported KIGO on this journey." "Dubai has an extraordinary appetite for fine dining, and KIGO has earned its place through the authenticity of its cooking and the discipline of its team," says Leonardo Baiocchi, Regional Vice President and General Manager. "I am immensely proud of them for earning this Michelin Star and thank our partners at Fundamental Hospitality for their support." With an intimate setting comprising a 12-seat sushi counter, private dining room and a limited number of tables, KIGO has been designed to allow for a highly personal experience, both in its cuisine and its hospitality. Together, KIGO's first Michelin star and Chef Aki's Michelin Guide Service Award mark an important moment for the restaurant and its team, recognising both its approach to Japanese cuisine and the hospitality that has shaped the KIGO experience since opening. Four Seasons Thailand takes four spots in 2026 Condé Nast reader rankings, led by Golden Triangle No. 1.

Four Seasons Thailand takes four spots in 2026 Condé Nast reader rankings, led by Golden Triangle No. 1. The Tented Camp tops the UK Thailand resort list, Koh Samui places second in the US and fifth in the UK, and Chiang Mai ranks 13th in the US. A tented guest room overlooking the landscape, reflecting the Northern Thailand setting highlighted in Four Seasons' 2026 Readers' Choice Awards announcement. Key takeaways. * Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle ranked No. 1 among Thailand resorts in the 2026 UK Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice Awards. * Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui placed No. 2 in the US Thailand resort ranking and No. 5 in the UK list. * Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai ranked No. 13 among Thailand resorts in the 2026 US Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards. * The results put three distinct Four Seasons properties, spanning the Golden Triangle, Chiang Mai and Koh Samui, into major reader-voted Thailand resort rankings for 2026. (NEWS) CHIANG RAI, Thailand, 2026-Oct-08 - /Travel PR News/ - A jungle retreat in Thailand's far north has delivered the strongest result for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in this year's Condé Nast reader polls, with Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle taking the No. 1 position for Thailand in the 2026 UK Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice Awards. Two sister properties also placed across the separate US and UK rankings, giving Four Seasons four positions among Thailand's reader-voted resort lists. The UK ranking scored the Golden Triangle camp at 99.63 and placed Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui fifth in Thailand with 98.25. In the US Condé Nast Traveler list, Koh Samui ranked second with a score of 99, while Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai placed 13th with 95.86. The results were published on October 6, with Four Seasons announcing its Thailand-wide showing the following day. A reader-voted win in the Golden Triangle. For the Golden Triangle camp, the UK result represents a notable move to the top of the Thailand category. Four Seasons said the property had ranked fifth in the 2025 edition before reaching first place this year. Located in Chiang Saen District in Chiang Rai province, the camp sits amid the landscapes of northern Thailand near the borders with Myanmar and Laos. Its accommodation is built around tented stays, river and jungle views, and experiences that connect guests with the surrounding area. Four Seasons' description of the property also highlights opportunities to learn about rescued elephants and the people involved in their care. Ivan Giles, General Manager of both Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai and Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, said the recognition reflected the relationship between northern Thailand's people, traditions and landscape, as well as the work of the resort teams. Koh Samui places strongly in both editions. Koh Samui was the only one of the three Thai Four Seasons properties to appear in both the US and UK resort rankings. Its No. 2 US placement and No. 5 UK position underline the different outcomes produced by the two editions' separate reader polls while keeping the island resort near the top of both lists. Set on a hillside overlooking the Gulf of Thailand, Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui combines private villas and residences with tropical grounds on the site of a former coconut plantation. The resort's food offering includes KOH Thai Kitchen & Bar, which focuses on Thai cooking and regional flavours. Jasjit Assi, General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, said the resort was grateful for continued recognition from guests and for the opportunity to share the island with travellers. Chiang Mai adds a third Four Seasons property to the US list. In northern Thailand, Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai completed the brand's 2026 awards showing with its No. 13 place in the US ranking. The resort is set amid rice fields, lily ponds and the Mae Rim Valley, with Lanna-inspired architecture and a programme built around regional craft, food traditions and wellness. Its Wara Cheewa Spa is part of that broader focus on northern Thai culture and the surrounding landscape. The property's inclusion alongside Koh Samui in the US list also gives Four Seasons representation in two very different parts of the country, from the island south to the northern highlands. Three different Thailand stays under one brand. Together, the three resorts present distinct versions of a Thailand holiday: coastal villas and Gulf views in Koh Samui, a countryside setting shaped by Lanna heritage in Chiang Mai, and an adventure-led tented experience in the Golden Triangle. That geographic spread is central to Four Seasons' positioning of the three properties as complementary rather than interchangeable. Ashok Nair, Camp Manager at Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, said guests often remember the connections they make with the landscape, elephants and people behind the camp experience. The 2026 rankings, which are based on reader voting, give those three properties a prominent place in both the UK and US editions' assessments of Thailand's resort scene.
