Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of medicine with completion of an approved psychiatric residency.
  • Possession of a valid Oregon medical license through the Oregon Medical Board, including unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration registration.
  • Board certification or board eligibility as a psychiatrist, with the ability to become certified within one year of hire.
  • Successful completion of all required criminal history checks.
  • A valid Oregon or Washington driver's license, an acceptable driving record, and insurability for agency travel; a reliable alternate mode of transportation may be acceptable.
  • Ability to perform essential responsibilities using the English language.
Responsibilities
  • Determine, establish, and administer treatment programs for patients as part of an integrated team, including possible family planning, pediatric, and general adult care.
  • Medically evaluate patients, determine diagnoses, and provide clinical and medication management.
  • Complete psychiatric assessments and diagnoses.
  • Coordinate care with community-based resources and providers.
  • Meet minimum patient-care productivity requirements established by the agency.
  • Determine clinical need for medication, prescribe medication, monitor efficacy, and adjust, modify, or discontinue medication as indicated.
  • Use the agency clinical software system to make internal referrals, manage the work schedule, and prepare current client treatment records and reports.
  • Maintain timely and cogent progress notes and service plans, and keep client records and documentation current to justify services provided.
  • Coordinate and exchange information with other healthcare providers to optimize patient care and participate in regular patient staffing discussions as a primary treatment-team member.
  • Participate in scheduled team and agency meetings, attend to email and voicemail in a timely manner, and attend local, regional, or state meetings as requested.
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals when hospitalization is required.
  • Travel between business offices and attend required meetings or trainings.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance, timely professional communication, and confidentiality.
