About the Job

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field is required.
  • Seven to ten years of manufacturing experience is required.
  • Prior experience in a production supervisor or team lead role in a high-volume environment is required.
  • A solid understanding of production control, work-in-process management, and line balancing is required.
  • Ability to work rotating day and night shifts is required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, is required.
  • Familiarity with shop floor management or manufacturing execution systems is required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day production execution for 800G and 1.6T transceiver assembly and test lines, ensuring build plans, quality targets, and delivery schedules are met.
  • Build a new product prototyping and testing environment adjacent to the factories for new product introduction development and training engineers and operators on optical transceiver and silicon photonics production processes.
  • Monitor production output, including product quantity, scrap, first-pass yield, defects, and work-in-process and inventory control.
  • Ensure operators follow optical handling procedures, including cleanroom discipline, fiber handling, electrostatic discharge protocols, and optical safety.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to support transitions from pilot builds to high-volume production and provide timely feedback on design for manufacturing, design for test, and quality.
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate production operators to improve individual and line performance.
  • Ensure staff competency in optical module assembly processes, including fiber alignment, die attach, wire bonding, and precision bonding techniques.
  • Manage facility operations, including operational and capital spending plans, recruiting, training, and cultivating a productive working culture.
  • Promote accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Support cross-training to build a flexible, multi-skilled workforce.
  • Drive productivity and efficiency improvements through adherence to 5S, standard work, and safety practices.
  • Lead and participate in root-cause investigations using 5 Why, fishbone analysis, and process mapping.
  • Support capacity ramp efforts as production volumes scale for next-generation optical modules.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports on production status, issues, and key performance indicators.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in optical transceivers, optical components, fiber assembly, or electronics manufacturing is strongly preferred.

About the Company

Lumilens

Photonic interconnects for AI infrastructure

Lumilens designs and manufactures optical interconnect products to accelerate AI infrastructure. It provides high-density photonic interconnects—such as high-density pluggable, near-packaged, and co-packaged optics—built with in-house silicon photonics to scale GPU clusters in AI data centers. Its products include 800G and 1.6T optical transceivers for AI networking, and it is pursuing broader integration like Electrical-Optical Interposers through a strategic partnership with POET Technologies. The company differentiates itself through vertical integration, custom robotics-driven manufacturing, and AI-optimized production processes that aim to improve yield and supply chain stability. Lumilens targets hyperscalers and large AI providers, seeking to move interconnect bottlenecks from compute to scalable, efficient data-center networks. Its goal is to enable faster, denser GPU connectivity to support growing AI workloads and models.
