When Foursquare introduced the Foursquare Geospatial Intelligence Platform in Q4 2024, its vision was ambitious yet singular: create a unified platform that would democratize access to geospatial intelligence through integrated data, compute, and visualization capabilities.
Foursquare, the location technology platform, has raised $3.8M in funding according to a recent SEC filing.
Foursquare raised $150 million and acquired location platform Placed from Snap. Placed will now be known as Placed Powered by Foursquare, with founder David Shims joining Foursquare's executive board as president. The acquisition and funding will support Foursquare's R&D and expansion plans, focusing on developer tools, analytics, audiences, attribution, and consumers. The Raine Group led the funding round.
