Responsibilities
  • Prepare and arrange equipment and instruments in the procedure room according to instructions.
  • Assist team members with patient positioning and comfort.
  • Participate in essential safety checks, including the Time Out, with the entire team before procedures.
  • Maintain a ready supply of endoscopic tools and materials.
  • Hand instruments and assist with tasks during procedures as directed by the physician.
  • Collaborate with team members to record interventions and patient care activities in the electronic health record.
  • Clean, reprocess, and maintain endoscopes and related equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and infection control standards.
  • Assist with tissue acquisition, labeling, and secure handling from collection to laboratory pickup.
  • Track specimen documentation and verify accuracy in reports.
  • Maintain procedure rooms according to industry and infection control standards.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
