Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution accredited by ACEN and/or CCNE is required.
  • At least one year of experience is required.
  • A valid State of Florida Registered Nurse license is required.
  • Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certifications are required.
  • The ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols and adapt to changing priorities and work demands is required.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment is required.
  • Proficiency in office software, technology, and relevant computer applications is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders are required.
Responsibilities
  • Assess assigned patients and evaluate plans, including documentation of nursing care.
  • Report symptoms and changes in patients’ condition and vital signs.
  • Modify patient treatment plans based on patients’ responses and conditions and physician orders.
  • Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic tests to assess patients’ conditions.
  • Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Prepare patients for and assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering patient age and culture.
  • Provide information about treatment plans and psychological support in a compassionate environment.
  • Perform appropriate patient tests and safely administer medications within the scope of practice.
  • Maintain accurate records related to medications and treatments according to regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and physician orders.
  • Communicate the plan of care promptly to patients, families, and appropriate team members while complying with regulatory guidelines such as HIPAA.
  • Use best practices for transitions of patient care.
  • Assist with discharge planning using available resources.
  • Plan, prioritize, and adjust assignments to accomplish goals and provide patient care, seeking assistance when needed.
  • Adapt to changing work demands and environments and operate appropriate medical equipment.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
