About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in infrastructure engineering and operations, including at least 3 years of hands-on AWS experience.
  • Proven experience building cloud infrastructure from scratch and taking greenfield projects from design through production deployment.
  • Strong PostgreSQL administration experience, including performance tuning, replication, backup and recovery, security configuration, and high-availability setup.
  • Expertise in PostgreSQL administration for data pipeline validation, query optimization, troubleshooting data issues, and evaluating ETL/ELT processes.
  • Strong Python programming skills for automation, data pipeline monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational scripting.
  • Hands-on Chef experience for infrastructure as code, including creating and maintaining cookbooks, recipes, roles, and environments in greenfield deployments.
  • Experience configuring enterprise identity and access management, specifically Google SAML integration and single sign-on implementations.
  • Proven experience administering Tableau Server or another business intelligence application, including installation, configuration, performance optimization, security, and user management.
  • Strong understanding of multi-environment infrastructure design, including network architecture, security boundaries, and deployment automation from initial design through implementation.
  • Proficiency in Bash and Ruby scripting for automation, monitoring, and operational tasks.
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or Nagios.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build AWS GovCloud infrastructure, establishing foundational architecture, security compliance with FedRAMP and FISMA, network security, and platform operations across development, preproduction, and production environments.
  • Establish PostgreSQL database infrastructure in GovCloud, including initial setup, performance optimization frameworks, backup and recovery architecture, replication strategies, high-availability configuration, and security-hardening standards.
  • Design and implement infrastructure as code from the ground up using Chef, creating cookbooks, recipes, and automation frameworks for server provisioning, configuration management, and repeatable deployments.
  • Integrate application access controls and identity management systems with Google SAML to establish secure authentication.
  • Deploy and configure business intelligence infrastructure in GovCloud, including initial installation, architecture design, performance optimization, user-management frameworks, and authentication-system integration.
  • Architect and implement multi-environment infrastructure, following AWS best practices for network segmentation, security boundaries, environment isolation, and promotion workflows.
  • Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and observability systems for infrastructure and data pipelines, including runbooks, operational standards, and disaster-recovery procedures.
  • Monitor, triage, and resolve data-pipeline and infrastructure incidents, including ETL/ELT failures, database performance issues, and access problems.
  • Collaborate with security, compliance, and data engineering teams to ensure infrastructure design meets government security requirements and compliance frameworks from inception.
  • Partner with DevOps and data engineering teams to establish CI/CD pipelines, data-pipeline orchestration, automated testing frameworks, and infrastructure-deployment automation using Chef and AWS native tools.
  • Utilize AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes.
  • Periodically undergo and pass additional background and fingerprint checks consistent with government customer requirements.

About the Company

CrowdStrike

Builds cloud software that stops cyberattacks

CrowdStrike builds cybersecurity software for organizations that need to protect computers, cloud workloads, identities and data from digital attacks. Its Falcon platform combines these defenses in one cloud system, using a lightweight sensor on devices to collect activity and detect suspicious behavior. Security teams investigate alerts and automate responses through a shared console, while the platform connects information from different parts of a business to reveal attacks that isolated tools miss. Customers pay subscription fees based on the products and assets covered, and CrowdStrike also charges for incident response services. CrowdStrike was founded in 2011 and is based in Austin, Texas.
