About the job
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- At least 1 year of interpretation experience.
- Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocols, avoiding omissions or additions.
- Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication, with permission or at the request of the client.
- At least 90% English proficiency.
- A steady wired internet connection.
- A USB wired headset.
- Windows 10 or Mac.
- A quiet and secure work environment.
- Language testing and a background check may be required based on location.
- Answer calls professionally and act according to the interpreter’s code of conduct.
- Process information quickly and accurately in a professional manner.
- Facilitate communication between Spanish and English speakers.
- Become familiar with industry-specific vocabulary, especially healthcare and medical terminology.
- Participate in internal professional training.
- Communicate and report to the team leader.
- Notepads, writing utensils, glossaries, and dictionaries are useful tools.
