About the company

Rocket Factory Augsburg

View

RFA provides affordable launch services for small satellites, centered on its RFA ONE launcher. The vehicle is a three-stage rocket: nine Helix engines on the first stage, a vacuum-optimized Helix on the second stage, and Redshift, an orbital transfer vehicle, on the third stage to place satellites into different orbits. The Helix engine uses an oxygen-rich staged combustion cycle to boost efficiency and payload capacity, with costs driven down by automotive-style serial production and off-the-shelf components. RFA differentiates itself through its European footprint, dedicated testing and launch infrastructure, and a modular launcher-plus-OTV approach aimed at rapid, multi-orbit deployment, with a goal of democratizing access to space by making launches affordable for small satellites.
