Requirements
  • An active Texas occupational therapist license in good standing is required.
  • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently in the field are required.
  • The ability to escalate changes in condition to a registered nurse or medical doctor and clearly document the rationale is required.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills are required.
  • Reliable follow-through on orders, visit frequencies, and patient goals is required.
  • A current driver's license and ability to travel daily across the assigned territory are required.
  • The ability to carry and transport basic therapy equipment as needed is required.
  • Competency in core home health occupational therapy scope is required, including activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living training, home safety, adaptive equipment, and caregiver education.
  • The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Complete in-home occupational therapy evaluations and deliver skilled occupational therapy visits.
  • Build and execute a plan of care focused on activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living, safety and fall prevention, and functional independence.
  • Recommend and train patients and caregivers on adaptive equipment and home modifications as needed.
  • Coordinate with nursing and the broader care team when a patient's condition or needs change.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior home health experience is preferred.
  • Deeper experience with neuro, cerebrovascular accident, fall-risk, dementia, or caregiver-training occupational therapy populations is preferred.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills are preferred.
