  • A high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Training program or equivalent experience are required.
  • Basic Life Support training or retraining must be completed during orientation before providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification must be maintained throughout employment.
Responsibilities
  • Screen patients and obtain pertinent information.
  • Assist physicians or advanced practitioners during patient visits in accordance with age-specific needs.
  • Assist physicians or advanced practitioners with patient care and communication as instructed.
  • Maintain examination rooms and the work environment.
  • Provide support to the clinic as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, an emergency room, or a hospital setting that provides patient care is preferred.
  • Experience with medical offices, insurance, referrals, prior authorization, hospitals, or computers is preferred.
  • Experience in office clerical activities is desirable.
  • Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
