Requirements
  • A high school diploma, General Educational Development credential, or equivalent is required.
  • For Operator 1, 2 or more years of heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience is required.
  • For Operator 2, 5 or more years of heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience is required.
  • For Operator 3, 10 or more years of heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience is required.
  • Ability to work in challenging conditions independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or walk for extended periods on project sites, climb in and out of equipment, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Ability to use tools and comply with safety protocols.
  • Proper personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, gloves, a hard hat, and steel-toed boots, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in a drug-free workplace with a random drug testing program.
  • Promote a safety culture supporting Incident and Injury Free Performance.
  • Operate heavy, motorized equipment used in earth-moving operations, including dozers, scrapers, loaders, excavators, and compactors.
  • Perform excavation, grading, and compaction of land surfaces using heavy, motorized construction equipment.
  • Excavate soil and other material from job sites into trucks for transport to stockpiling or disposal locations.
  • Use hand-held mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources.
  • Read and comply with safety plans, rules, maintenance instructions, training materials, Safety Data Sheets, warning tags, traffic signs, and procedure manuals.
  • Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed.

  • Competent Person Safety Training.
  • 8-hour Supervisory Training.
  • 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety Training.
  • First Aid and CPR.
