Requirements
  • A minimum of two years of recertification experience, including prior Low-Income Housing Tax Credit recertification experience.
  • Experience with Section 8, tax credit, and public housing programs.
  • Understanding of Housing and Urban Development and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program requirements.
  • Understanding of Housing and Urban Development Handbook 4350 and experience with the 236 program and its Central Processing Office.
  • Impeccable customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask within time constraints.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, property management software, and internet-based tools.
  • Reliable transportation for regional travel.
  • Ability to travel up to 100% to assigned worksites anywhere in the United States, including overnight and multi-day travel.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, with evenings and weekends potentially required regularly.
Responsibilities
  • Manage tenant-facing activities, schedule resident interviews, collect asset and income data, and calculate rents for annual renewals.
  • Assist with move-ins and move-outs.
  • Complete annual and interim recertifications.
  • Schedule and administer resident interviews.
  • Coordinate on-site data collection and process resident information.
  • Schedule resident recertification interviews.
  • Ensure proper calculation of income, assets, and rent levels.
  • Coordinate apartment inspections for recertifications.
  • Maintain resident files in accordance with company and regulatory agency policies.
  • Support rehabilitation, brand-new lease-ups, and re-syndication processes.
  • Assist management in preparing for state audits.
  • Perform additional assigned tasks, duties, and responsibilities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Professional certification such as Certified Occupancy Specialist, Tax Credit Specialist, or an industry Housing and Urban Development or Low-Income Housing Tax Credit designation.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language ability.
