  • Active certification as a Bridge Inspection Team Leader meeting applicable state and National Bridge Inspection Standards requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead routine, fracture-critical, and special bridge inspections in accordance with National Bridge Inspection Standards requirements.
  • Supervise and mentor field technicians and junior inspectors while coordinating multiple inspection teams.
  • Plan, organize, and direct field inspection activities while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
  • Perform structural evaluations and document bridge conditions, deficiencies, and recommendations.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, load ratings, and repair recommendations using applicable engineering software.
  • Utilize AASHTOWare BrR and other structural analysis and asset management tools.
  • Apply non-destructive testing methods as appropriate during bridge inspections.
  • Ensure inspection work complies with applicable state Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration standards and requirements.
  • Communicate directly with agency representatives regarding bridge conditions, inspection findings, and maintenance priorities.
  • Assist with internal engineering and office production activities during periods of limited field inspection work.
  • Contribute to the development of junior staff and help build the next generation of bridge inspection professionals.
  • Perform occasional walking, standing, or reaching as necessary.
Desired Qualifications
  • Nonredundant Steel Tension Member certification (Course 130078).
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior inspectors.
  • Experience working directly with state Departments of Transportation or other transportation agencies.
  • Prolonged sitting at a computer workstation.

Indianapolis, Indiana [August 21, 2026] - American Structurepoint has been named a finalist in the Engineering category for the 49th Annual Monumental Awards, presented by the Indy Chamber, for its work on the Reimagine Pleasant Street Project in Noblesville, Indiana. Reimagine Pleasant Street is a $125 million, 2.5-mile multimodal corridor that connects State Road 32 to State Road 37 while helping reduce traffic through downtown Noblesville. The project includes six roundabouts, three bridges, extensions of the Midland Trace Trail, pedestrian tunnels, enhanced crossings, and streetscape improvements designed to improve mobility, safety, and quality of life.
