About the job
- Fluency in English is essential.
- Competency in verbal English is essential.
- Ensure high levels of guest service by applying Fairmont Core standards and standard operating policies.
- Regularly empty soiled linen from the pantry and return it to the linen room.
- Stock all pantries with clean linen according to par stock.
- Assist the linen room with daily tasks as required.
- Immediately report any lost-and-found articles found in rooms, corridors, service lift landings, public areas, or the basement.
- Report malfunctioning equipment to the Floor Supervisor or Housekeeping Management.
- Sign for assigned keys, pager, and work paper, and return them by the end of the shift.
- Clean and store all equipment used during the day, including vacuums, in the storeroom.
- Vacuum and dust assigned corridors and staircases.
- Bring guest supplies to pantries according to the daily order list and replenish service areas.
- Record guest requests received through Housekeeping Supervisors or Management and carry them out as requested.
- Move furniture as needed.
- Refill daily chemicals.
- Clean walls, lights, and ceiling lights as required.
- Polish brass and clean windows and window frames in arrival and long-stay guest rooms.
- Assist with removing guestroom drapery for cleaning.
- Conduct assigned deep-cleaning tasks, such as spot carpet cleaning and showerhead descaling.
- Keep the Housekeeping Office, floor pantries, and storerooms clean and tidy.
- Report anything that could be a health and safety hazard.
- Assist with on-the-job training of new House Attendants as required.
- Attend training courses provided by Housekeeping and Human Resources.
- Comply with reasonable requests from the Supervisor and Hotel Management.
- Previous experience in a hotel housekeeping department.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Previous experience in a five-star property.
