Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience are required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
  • Perform operational and business duties in support of a clinical area or department, which may include clinic workflow, clinical quality outcomes, patient relations and satisfaction, clinic-specific budgeting and coordination, and oversight of associate staff.
  • Provide support services for the medical facility or clinic and use existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems.
  • Implement and develop business management practices, planning mechanisms, control systems, and organizational structures necessary to manage a small clinical department.
  • Manage to a business-planning mechanism that maps revenues to resources and leads to realistic action plans.
  • Organize and analyze information to support a clear understanding of the department's clinical operations.
  • Oversee billing, collection, and control systems for professional fees and expenditures, and typically manage an operating budget of up to $10 million.
  • Recruit, select, orient, and train employees; develop growth opportunities; coach, counsel, and discipline employees; plan, monitor, and appraise job results; and conduct training.
  • Oversee clinical activities, including scheduling, patient registration, billing, and medical records management, to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Work on clinical quality assurance initiatives with appropriate leaders; request additional resources as needed based on operations; and participate in the business improvement plan process.
  • Develop and implement administrative policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Manage employee lifecycle activities, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, discipline, and separation, and lead local employee engagement initiatives.
  • Evaluate the performance of the assigned area using metrics, recommend actions to improve operations, and partner with leadership to implement initiatives.
  • Manage purchases and approvals for major equipment, services, space, and materials within the assigned budget.
  • Serve as a resource for difficult patient relations concerns and communicate with parties within and outside the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
