Requirements
  • Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC), with Royal College certification or equivalent in Geriatric Medicine.
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
  • Membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
  • Full-time experience in geriatric medicine is preferred.
  • Ability to independently commute to a variety of care settings served by the service.
Responsibilities
  • Provide full scope of practice as an internist and geriatrician.
  • Provide office-based, hospital, on-call, and intensive care unit support as required.
  • Contribute to and participate in teaching programs and activities.
  • Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities as assigned.
  • Provide support to the candidate's own site and to other sites in the Western Zone if required, including travelling clinics.
  • Be responsible to the Zone Department Head for Internal Medicine for professional responsibilities and quality of practice.
  • Operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of Nova Scotia Health Authority.
