Flowserve targets 20% margins by 2030 as nuclear power demand grows

MD Sass, a boutique asset management firm, initiated a position in Flowserve Corporation during Q2 2026, highlighting the industrial flow management equipment company in its investor letter. The firm's thesis centres on nuclear power, noting that Flowserve is a leading supplier of highly engineered pumps and valves for nuclear reactors. These mission-critical components operate under extreme conditions and are difficult to replace due to regulatory requirements, creating attractive economics and long-term revenue streams. The company's adjusted operating margins reached 14.8% in 2025, up 300 basis points year-on-year, with management targeting approximately 20% by 2030. As of Q2 2026, 51 hedge funds held Flowserve shares, up from 48 the previous quarter. The stock closed at $80.33 on 28 August 2026.

Flowserve (FLS) cuts full-year growth outlook amid ~1% organic sales decline

Flowserve Corporation trimmed its full-year growth outlook following a decline in organic sales of approximately 1%. The industrial pump and valve supplier faced activist investor pressure questioning management execution. According to Voya Investment Management's second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Flowserve accounted for 1.38% of its Dynamic Small Cap Fund portfolio but detracted from performance during the quarter. The fund's machine learning models had initially taken a positive view of the company's valuation and short interest features. As of 14 August 2026, Flowserve shares closed at $80.87, giving the company a market capitalisation of $10.28 billion. Despite the quarterly setback, the stock gained 51.95% over the previous 52 weeks. At the end of the first quarter, 48 hedge funds held positions in Flowserve, down from 51 the previous quarter.
