About the job

Requirements
  • The candidate must have 3–6 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including in-house recruiting at an early-stage startup from seed to Series B with fewer than about 50 employees.
  • The candidate must have experience hiring both software engineers and salespeople.
  • The candidate must have hands-on end-to-end onboarding and offboarding experience, including I-9 and new-hire compliance for California employees.
  • The candidate must have strong sourcing skills and be comfortable cold-reaching senior machine learning engineers or enterprise account executives.
  • The candidate must be organized and systems-minded, able to build processes and maintain clean applicant tracking system records and personnel records without prompting.
  • The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills because they will often be LiveX's first impression for candidates.
  • The candidate must exercise discretion with compensation, equity, immigration, and personnel matters.
  • The candidate must have an early-stage operator mindset and be comfortable working without an existing human resources function.
  • The candidate must be able to work on-site in Palo Alto.
Responsibilities
  • Run full-cycle recruiting for engineering, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, full-stack, and hardware/edge roles; solution engineering; sales and go-to-market; and operations, including intake, job postings, sourcing, screening, scheduling, debriefs, offers, and closing.
  • Proactively build candidate pipelines using sourcing tools, referrals, university and new-graduate programs, artificial intelligence and robotics communities, and events such as NVIDIA GTC rather than waiting for inbound applicants.
  • Run a fast, candidate-friendly process with structured interviews, scorecards, same-week feedback, and a weekly pipeline report for the founders.
  • Set up and maintain the applicant tracking system and hiring metrics, including time to fill, pass-through rates, offer acceptance rate, and cost per hire.
  • Manage agency and contract recruiters when used by negotiating terms, enforcing quality, and controlling spend.
  • Work with founders on offers, including leveling, base pay, commission and equity framing, and closing candidates with competing offers.
  • Own the process from signed offer through day 90, including offer letters, background checks, I-9 and E-Verify, new-hire paperwork, equipment and account setup with engineering, first-week schedules, and 30-, 60-, and 90-day check-ins.
  • Keep the onboarding guide current and ensure every new hire is correctly set up in payroll, benefits, and the cap table on day one.
  • Coordinate visa-related onboarding for H-1B, OPT/STEM OPT, and TN cases with outside immigration counsel, including document collection, timelines, and employee communication.
  • Run offboarding, including exit checklists, equipment and access recovery, final pay timing under California rules, exit interviews, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant personnel files and act as the point of contact for paperwork, benefits enrollment, and policy questions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Recruiting experience for artificial intelligence and machine learning, robotics, computer vision, or hardware roles.
  • Hands-on experience with a modern applicant tracking system, human resources information system or payroll platform, and cap-table software.
  • Experience working with immigration counsel on employment visa cases.

About the company

Embedding VC is an early-stage venture fund that backs Generative AI startups. It provides seed to early-stage capital and operational guidance, leveraging a team of current and former builders and operators who can help portfolio companies grow. The fund’s approach centers on working closely with founders and using hands-on experience to scale AI projects, including those aiming toward AGI, during a period described as a new computing super cycle driven by AI innovations. Unlike funds that rely mainly on financial leverage, Embedding VC differentiates itself through its deep operator network, practical support, and focus on and commitment to building capable, scalable AI businesses. The overall goal is to support ambitious AI founders to advance the development and deployment of AI technologies and capture value in the expanding AI ecosystem.
