Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited two-year program in radiologic technology is required.
  • ARRT registration and a New York State Department of Health radiology license are required.
  • Certification to inject according to Section 89.40 of Part 89 is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • Online programs from any organization will not be accepted.
Responsibilities
  • Operate MRI equipment as directed by physicians, using routine protocols and procedures according to established standards.
  • Provide customer service to patients.
  • Instruct and position patients according to department protocols.
  • Practice MRI safety through patient safety screening, staff safety screening, and glomerular filtration rate calculation.
  • Use universal precautions and personal protective equipment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency with the radiology information system, picture archiving and communication system, and Epic is highly preferred.
  • Ability to perform diagnostic procedures using Siemens Essenza, a contrast injector, and positioning coils is highly preferred.
  • Acute care experience is highly preferred.
