Asia-Pacific lighting fixtures market surpasses $58B driven by Havells' $787M revenue and smart LED shift

The Asia-Pacific lighting fixtures market has surpassed $58 billion in production value, according to a new CSIL report. China leads regional production, followed by Japan and India, with exports accounting for approximately half of total output. Key market drivers include urbanisation, energy-efficiency mandates, and growing adoption of smart LED systems. The 244-page study analyses residential, professional, and outdoor lighting applications across 13 regional markets. It includes historical data from 2019 to 2024 and forecasts through 2027. North America remains the primary export destination. Vietnam has emerged as the region's second-largest lighting fixtures exporter. Major manufacturers including Signify, Opple Lighting, and Panasonic Lighting continue expanding smart lighting capabilities as LED technology adoption nears completion.

Signify brings concurrent Matter and Zigbee support to Philips Hue bulbs via Silicon Labs

Signify and Silicon Labs have announced a collaboration to bring concurrent multiprotocol communications to select Philips Hue smart bulbs, enabling support for both Zigbee and Matter over Thread simultaneously on a single device. Signify launches Sports Live smart lighting that syncs with real-time match events for Championship 2026

Signify has launched Sports Live, new software for its Philips Hue and Philips Smart Lighting systems that uses live match data to trigger real-time lighting effects during football matches. The system responds to key moments such as goals and cards, synchronising home lighting with on-pitch action. The software connects to a live sports data API and adjusts for broadcast delays. During quieter periods, lights display team colours or warm white when scores are tied. Setup takes minutes through the Philips Hue or WiZ app, with no additional hardware required. Sports Live begins rolling out in May, with full release in June 2026 ahead of Championship 2026. The system complements existing entertainment features like Hue Sync and works across single rooms or entire home zones.
