  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical Assistant-Certified
  • Certificate Medical Assistant
  • Ability to handle high volume of interactions with frequent interruptions required
Responsibilities
  • Setting up the patient in the exam room
  • Perform and document vital signs (manual blood pressures)
  • Perform and document EKGs
  • Reconciling medications
  • Reason for visit, health care concern
  • Interview/Discuss with patient changes in patient’s health since the last visit
  • Assist the provider with minor surgical procedures
  • Prepare appropriate medications for injections
  • Responsible for phone messages, faxes, and Medical Reception responsibilities as needed
  • Knowledge of medical insurance terminology, computer skills for scheduling, and familiarity with general office procedures and equipment
Desired Qualifications
  • EPIC (EMR) experience, preferred
  • 1-3 years of prior experience in ambulatory care, preferred
