Requirements
  • A Master's degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering is required.
  • A current Engineer-In-Training professional designation is required, or the candidate must be willing to obtain it soon after hire.
  • Zero to three or more years of relevant experience in bridge engineering design work.
  • An understanding of engineering design software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  • Principal knowledge of load calculations, structural analysis, and design engineering.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Serve in a lead or support technical role depending on project complexity.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and, at times, task or project management.
  • Make day-to-day structural engineering design decisions on bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects, including production and scheduling.
  • Work in a team environment internally and externally.
  • Participate actively in client interaction at the project level.
  • Leverage engineering design software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  • Write and complete technical reports and project correspondence.
