Requirements

  • One to three years of experience.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is desired.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Annual certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain consistent coverage of all self-checkout-related activities, ensuring that all sales are accurately captured while providing guest service in a safe environment.
  • Direct traffic flow for speedy checkout while ensuring guest needs are met; open additional checkout options and request assistance as needed; assist cashiers with overrides and questions.
  • Create and manage daily schedules and control sheets for maximum efficiency and program compliance; dictate the break and lunch plan while maintaining front-end coverage; monitor cash-control procedures as needed.
  • Assist the Front End Leader, as assigned, by taking ownership of one or more auxiliary front-end lines of business, such as gift cards and candy.
  • Take ownership of the Front End when the Front-End Leader is not on duty and act as the point person for the Front End.
  • Ensure all compliance activities are completed daily and take ownership of assigned compliance topics, including anti-money-laundering, scale and PIN-pad checks, and WIC.
  • Order Front End supplies to meet needs while remaining conscious of cost.
  • Train and coach Front End Team Members on efficiencies, best practices, service culture, and loss-prevention tactics, both in the moment and for long-term success, using tools such as the Cashier Coach Pad.
  • Support the Front End Leader with special projects or champion assignments.
