Responsibilities
Engage clients in daily activities and manage behavior according to each client's individual plan and needs.

Implement programs according to the Coordinated Service and Support Plan, Coordinated Service and Support Plan Addendum, and Individual Abuse Prevention Plan.
Provide person-centered services through practice, action, and language.
Administer and document prescribed medications, treatments, diets, and examinations according to applicable plans and directions.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act requirements and organizational policies.
Prepare meals according to the planned menu and complete weekly food ordering as scheduled or needed.

Manage clients' overall healthcare in conjunction with the Lead Youth Counselor.
Oversee house and client documentation and work with the Program Supervisor to maintain records according to organizational expectations and licensing standards.
Ensure fire and weather drills are completed at the frequency required by licensing authorities unless appropriately delegated.
Cross-train at multiple crisis programs to support youth and maintain required staffing ratios.
Collaborate with the team to complete other assigned or needed duties.
Job Summary:The youth counselor supports youth experiencing a mental health crisis in our children’s crisis settings. This service is designed to support youth in the community instead of them living in a hospital, hotel or detention center. In this role, you will provide support to youth by implementing interventions identified in their therapeutic support plan and engaging in all daily activities with clients. This includes supporting them with hygiene and daily tasks, cooking, maintaining their schedule, taking them into the community and managing behaviors when necessary.

MORA provides an array of services: Adult Day Services, Contracted Case Management, Community Supports, over 30 Residential Homes, Respite, Therapeutic Recreation, Training for Guardians & Families, and a Discover Summer Daytime Programming for Youth with Disabilities. Our Metro Crisis Coordination Program (MCCP) offers a safety net of crucial and cost-effective services for adults and children.
Schedules: 40 hours per pay period- anticipated schedule includes a combination of day hours-7am-3pm and evening hours 2pm-10pm with every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday. Willingness to work a combination of these hours is required.
Hourly Base Rate: $25.00 per hour Weekend differential +$2.00 hour for hours between Fri 10pm and Sun 10pm Overnight differential +$1.00 hour for hours between 10pm and 6am ($12.41 per hour sleep hours only when assigned)
$1,500 retention bonus for full-time paid out over 1 year.

Required Qualifications:
21 years or older
High School Diploma or GED
Experience with youth in a residential, shelter or crisis program
