Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or a similar related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering within the building construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience modeling electrical systems and compiling construction documents in Revit.
  • Experience with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Availability for in-person meetings and site visits under a flexible hybrid office policy.
Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical design for various project types and deliver projects across design/bid/build, design assist, and full design delivery models.
  • Develop contract drawings from schematics through construction documents.
  • Apply engineering principles to electrical distribution, lighting, and power systems design.
  • Communicate design options to a diverse stakeholder group.
  • Independently evaluate and apply engineering judgment, techniques, and procedures to complete projects from concepts through construction.
  • Apply knowledge of building codes and electrical industry standards.
  • Perform engineering calculations and equipment selection.
  • Perform site visits and issue reports.
  • Generate and edit project specifications.
  • Attend meetings with clients and project teams.
  • Support construction administration, including responding to requests for information and reviewing submittals.
  • Collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment to produce integrated project documents and cohesive design strategies and solutions.
  • Manage project time efficiently to support timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide quality control for project documentation.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) credential.
  • Expert knowledge of Washington State and Seattle codes and sustainable design practices.
  • Electric utility coordination experience, including submitting service applications; Seattle City Light (SCL) and Puget Sound Energy (PSE) experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience designing electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
  • Project management experience.
