Requirements
  • Knowledge of imagery evaluations, image quality studies, new product and sensor initializations, product algorithm assessments, and development of image quality equations.
  • Experience in full image processing and digital signal processing.
  • High-level knowledge of image chain analysis, including atmospheric modeling, signal quality and noise, optics, detector calibration, and image processing of pixel data to display radiometrically correct values.
  • Familiarity with current GEOINT systems, products, and development, as well as exploitation software packages such as ELTs and AGITK.
  • Knowledge of PAN, infrared, multispectral/hyperspectral, RADAR, and LIDAR systems on space or airborne platforms.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; Jira; Miro; collaboration tools; cloud platforms; cloud services; DevSecOps; automation; GitLab CI/CD; Infrastructure as Code; Terraform; AWS CloudFormation; containerization; Docker; Kubernetes; OpenShift; Agile; development lifecycle tools; SonarQube; and Nexus.
  • An active TS/SCI clearance and eligibility for a CI polygraph.
  • A bachelor's degree in Imaging Science, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related STEM field.
  • Four to seven years of experience.
  • Ability to develop and use complex concepts and processes.
  • Working knowledge and practical application of modeling components of the image creation path, including sensor, detector, atmospheric, and material properties.
  • Simulation and modeling experience.
  • Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle, including independent testing and data verification.
  • Ability to develop algorithm description documentation for software development.
  • Ability to contribute to moderately complex aspects of a project and work generally independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities
  • Report to a manager or head of a unit or department weekly.
  • Understand imagery scientist processes and procedures for the team.
  • Contribute to team structure and cadence.
  • Provide metrics, reports, and presentations as requested by the government lead and project manager.
  • Improve efficiency with team processes.
  • Contribute to team discussions and recommend improvements.
  • Guide and support junior-level personnel.
  • Conduct root-cause problem analysis and develop technical solutions to problems.

  • Knowledge of secure coding best practices and compliance standards, including NIST and FedRAMP.
  • Knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
  • Experience with modern software development practices.
