Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification, or license is required.
  • Applicable certification requirements are determined by the department description.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
  • Proficiency with office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and care for equipment, including cleaning intravenous pumps, poles, glucometers, and ultrasound machines with hospital-approved disinfectant before and after use.
  • Maintain patient areas with adequate supplies.
  • Complete equipment logs, report broken equipment, and enter work orders for repairs.
  • Ensure that the medication refrigerator is clean, maintain refrigerator logs, and report temperature deviations to the supervisor.
  • Collect vital signs and communicate abnormalities to appropriate senior staff members.
  • Accompany patients to exam rooms for procedures.
  • Prepare clinic rooms for procedures and ensure that all required equipment and supplies are present.
  • Assist with simple wound care and practice universal precautions according to policy.
  • Assist with lifting, positioning, turning, and ambulating patients.
  • Collect stool, urine, and sputum specimens and transport them to the laboratory.
  • Report observed changes in patients' condition or behavior to the assigned nurse.
  • Transport patients to and from various areas as indicated.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
