Vast Space develops artificial gravity space stations designed to support human life beyond Earth. Their technology uses large spinning structures to create centrifugal force, simulating Earth's gravity, which is essential for human health during long-term space missions. The company primarily serves clients in the aerospace sector, including government agencies and private space exploration firms, who are interested in colonization efforts on the Moon and Mars. Vast Space's business model focuses on the development and commercialization of its artificial gravity technology, generating revenue through contracts for advanced space habitats and customizable modules for microgravity environments. The company's goal is to expand humanity's presence in the solar system while ensuring sustainable growth and protecting Earth's ecosystem. They are building a skilled team to advance their research, testing, and manufacturing of space infrastructure.

Ripple, Mt. Gox Founder Bets $1 Billion That He Can Replace The International Space Station

Decrypt’s Art, Fashion, and Entertainment Hub. Discover SCENEWhat do you do after amassing a fortune from cryptocurrency? Build a space station, of course. That’s exactly what Ripple co-founder Jed McCaleb is doing, according to a report by Bloomberg. While crypto investors say they’re “going to the moon” when Bitcoin surges, McCaleb, a longtime industry pioneer, is aiming for the real thing.“It’s super important that people take this leap from where we are today to this potential world where there’s a lot of people living off the Earth,” McCaleb told Bloomberg. “There’s not that many folks that are willing to dedicate the amount of resources and time and risk tolerance that I am.”McCaleb’s $1 billion bet, entirely self-funded, is that Vast Space—the California-based aerospace company he founded in 2021—can build and launch a functioning station. The goal is to become a candidate to replace the International Space Station, which is scheduled for decommissioning in 2030.McCaleb, who co-founded the cryptocurrency exchange Mt. Gox in 2010, Ripple in 2011, and then Stellar in 2014, is now investing his estimated $3.2 billion fortune—largely from XRP sales—into Vast Space.“This is a big, bold vision by Jed McCaleb,” Ripple co-founder and Executive Chairman Chris Larsen wrote on X. “America used to pursue new frontiers like this before skidding into bureaucracy and doubt

Vast’S Haven-1 To Be World’S First Commercial Space Station Connected By Spacex Starlink

LONG BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, we are announcing that Vast’s Haven-1, scheduled to be the world’s first commercial space station, will be equipped with SpaceX’s Starlink laser terminal providing Gigabit/s speed, low latency connectivity to its crew users, internal payload racks, external cameras and instruments. “If you need to provide high-speed, low-latency, continuous internet connectivity on a space station in orbit in 2025, SpaceX Starlink is the only option,” said Max Haot, Vast’s CEO. “We expect their network and technology leading position to continue and accelerate over time, which is why we are excited to have the chance to partner with SpaceX on deploying their first laser connectivity for a space station.”. The Haven-1 crew will be able to connect their personal devices via Wi-Fi to the Starlink network and have unprecedentedly better internet connectivity on orbit to host outreach video calls and perform experiments and science with full, high-speed internet access. Even during crew rest time, they will be able to use high-speed internet
