Specializes neutron imaging for NDT services
Phoenix, LLC provides neutron imaging services (neutron radiography) as nondestructive testing for aerospace, defense, and energy sectors, operating the Phoenix Neutron Imaging Center in Fitchburg, WI. It uses a proprietary accelerator-driven neutron generator to produce high-flux neutrons without a nuclear reactor, enabling internal inspection of components for QA, failure analysis, and R&D (e.g., munitions and turbine blades). It differentiates itself by using an accelerator-based source, maintaining a production-scale facility with ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D certifications, DoD-safety/compliance practices, and long government relationships (including the US Army), and is connected to SHINE Technologies through a merger. Its goal is to commercialize fusion technology by delivering practical neutron generation capabilities as part of SHINE’s phased plan, while continuing to provide reliable imaging services for industry and government customers.
